‘DRUMMING XXL’ IN PARIS & BRUSSELS IN MAY AND JUNE 2024
For ‘DRUMMING XXL’, P.A.R.T.S teams up with the Conservatoire national supérieur de musique et de danse de Paris and École des Sables, the International Centre for Traditional & Contemporary African Dances, founded in Toubab Dialaw, Senegal by Germaine Acogny.
‘DRUMMING XXL’, brings together seventy performers from the 3 schools, for this exceptional version of Drumming, created in August 1998 by Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker and Rosas, to the music of Steve Reich.
The dancers from the various schools will work on a new version under guidance of Clinton Stringer, recreating several sections of the original piece, making their own transformations of the original material, creating duets and trios, and using the underlying structures of the original choreography to create new constructions.
One to look forward to!
