In the 3rd year of the BA Training program, choreographers are invited
to make a piece together with a group of students.
In the Winter-Spring of 2022, PARTS invited three choreographers:
Tamara Cubas (Uruguay), Philipp Gehmacher (Austria) and Fabrice Mazliah (Switzerland/Germany).
Each of them worked 8 weeks with a group of 8-13 students, and we present the results during 3 evenings in the Rosas Performance Space from March 30 until April 1, 2022.
There are two performances each evening.
You can buy single tickets per performance, or in a double bill format.
EMBODIED BODIES / Fabrice Mazliah
This piece considers the body as not exclusively human, but as a community of interrelated organisms that co-habit and interact with each other, provide for each other, and live together. Water, stones, kombucha skin and dancers’ bodies go into combinations and re-combinations, in order to reveal how the merging of various entities has invented us and how we can learn what it means to live, to cohabit and to create together.

A LOT A PART A BODY / Philipp Gehmacher
Bodies of all sorts, in the landscape, on a lot. Bodies of all makes, in a circle, holding hands. Bodies falling, out of bodies, out of shapes. In this work, historical, material, cultural and personal bodies cross each other’s paths. 13 graduating students and Philipp Gehmacher researched what it means to step into different bodies in motion and the physical and emotional environments they actualize.

OFFERING FOR A MONSTER / Tamara Cubas
In her work, Tamara Cubas looks for moments and sensations where everything falls apart, in order to find the sheer desire to live, untouched by our obsession to structure, and institutionalise everything. What then manifests itself is the monster, that what we could not imagine. She lets the monster live within us, contaminate us and affect us, so that the body becomes vibrant, autonomous and powerful.
