Throwback to last month’s theater showings
During the second semester, the first year bachelor Training students followed a 5-week theater workshop. The main goal of this theater workshop is not to turn dancers into actors, but to confront dancers with a performative situation in which their first medium is speech and not movement.
This year, they worked in 6 groups, under the direction of Akram Assam, Eva Schram and Kuno Bakker.
The students worked with their own texts or used texts of David Mamet, Ayad Akhtar and Spike Lee as a starting point. The outcome of the workshop is not a well-made play but a series of scenes, presented to the audience in an informal setting.
All of this was presented in February during an internal presentation.
