Together, Drifting

Whether we look all of these electronic devices up and down as tools with a great potential to simplify our everyday’s activity, or as the cause of a new type of addiction, or as a medium which modifies our social behavior, we see how they play a role of extension of our body, thinking, and humanity.
How can two bodies drift together creating an unstable and always changing environment? This research combines dance and electronic music of the electric guitar, where the sound acquires a body and the body becomes abstract, with the aim of creating an image that never arrives but is always in transition.
Starting from the score Two for T by Pauline Oliveros, Leonardo Melchionda and Daniel Cantero develop an original composition playing with contrasts, analogies, divergences, thus not allowing the material to settle but to evolve, following a structure that is always in motion.

Leonardo Melchionda (1992, IT) sound artist and performer, professionally trained in the field of classical and contemporary music, free improvisation and live electronics. Active in different collaborative projects, transdisciplinarity of arts and collective composition are the basic elements to produce an artistic experience out of the ordinary. Currently studying contemporary music’s practice and repertoire with Tom Pauwels as mentor, attending the Master Na Master Hedendaagse Muziek led by Ictus ensemble and SPECTRA at the Conservatory of Ghent.

Daniel Cantero (2000, IT) dancer and performer, professionally trained in contemporary dance. Currently studying in P.A.R.T.S-Performing Arts Research and Training Studios directed by Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker in Brussels
