A retrospect: last month at P.A.R.T.S.

During 4 weeks, the students from our Bachelor program Training had a choice to work in smaller groups on repertoire, creation or personal work. All of this was presented mid June during an internal presentation.

In the spotlight this week: personal work initiated by Jair Jetzehu Montes Rangel with “Todos”.

Based on the input of the performers, we generated and created material using the concept and tools from contemporary dance and hip hop. Each performer has its own roll, but during the creation process everyone had the opportunity and time to play and create material with the four elements that compose the base of our structure: music (composition - beats), movement (mix of the performers’ backgrounds and movement desire), drawing / writing (graffiti) and the use of text in a theatrical form (rap).

The ultimate outcome was a work in progress, the aim is to continue exploring and developing the work into a finished piece.
