On Tuesday evening October 11th at 19h, he will give a public lecture at PARTS.

Despite having no tropical mangrove forests within thousands of kilometers, Brussels has long been a study pole for mangrove research through Vrije Universiteit Brussel and Université Libre de Bruxelles. This talk provides an overview of the mangrove ecosystem functions, goods and services on which nearly a billion people depend throughout the >120 countries where mangrove forests grow at the edge of land and sea.
They are threatened by climate change and human pressure and often need restoration. The red line through this presentation are archives and historic pieces of art related to these unique forests.
