THROWBACK TO THE EOY 'SET AND RESET/RESET'

The second year BA Training students concluded 2023 with 3 sold out evening performances of Set and Reset/Reset, showing each evening 4 different versions.

During a four-week intensive workshop, they worked with TBDC alumni Diane Madden, Kathleen Fisher and Samuel Wentz on “Set and Reset/Reset,” based on Trisha Brown’s “Set and Reset” (1983).

In the TBDC repertory workshop, the dancers learned original movement sequences from Set and Reset and improvised with the material, guided by the same compositional rules devised by Brown and the dancers. Working closely with one another and informed by skills practiced in technique courses, the dancers shaped ensemble improvisations into choreography, generating a unique Set and Reset/Reset. Here, as with Brown’s Company, the dancers are an integral part of both the creative process and the end result.
